Grapes are an important part of the culture here.  From the growers, the processing plant, the wineries that are on the Lake Erie Wine Trail and the acclaimed Grape Discovery Center to the aroma of the concords in the fall the grapes provide a unique experience.

History is a large part of the community, home to the Chautauqua County Historical Society, the McClurg Mansion Museum presides over Moore Park in the Village square with the Lincoln—Bedell Statue on the opposite corner.
